Our Commmunity
Uptown encompasses the diverse neighborhoods of Bankers Hill-Park West, Five Points, Hillcrest, and Mission Hills. Uptown is one of the older areas in the City of San Diego. Therefore, issues regarding parking, traffic, transit, and pedestrian often arise from the need to adjust an aging infrastructure to present day needs.
Bankers Hill-Park West
Bankers Hill, sometimes known as Park West, is a long established uptown San Diego neighborhood near Balboa Park. It is bordered to the north by Mission Hills and Hillcrest (at Upas St.), to the south, past Date Street, by Downtown (at Interstate 5, the San Diego Freeway), to the east by Balboa Park, and the west by Interstate 5, Little Italy and San Diego International Airport.
Hillcrest
Hillcrest is known for its award-winning restaurants, trendy stores, medical offices, two major hospitals, and the largest concentration of gay and lesbian-owned businesses in the City. Named one of America's great neighborhoods in 2007, Hillcrest features an array of older homes mixed in with newer, upscale apartments and condominiums. Hillcrest is located within Council District Three.

Mission Hills - Five Points
Located in the hills above Old Town, Mission Hills is a neighborhood of stately Craftsman homes. Many of the community's homes date back to the early 20th century and are carefully preserved as some of the most unique and beautiful in the city. Kate Sessions, the famed planner of Balboa Park, started the Mission Hills Nursery a century ago, and it is still the center of this quaint neighborhood, where interesting shops and cafes make it an ideal residential community. Mission Hills is located within Council District Two.
